Empowering Communities
Welcome to RCI Community Funds
Local communities across the country are experiencing economic distress due to a range of factors, including high unemployment rates, declining local industries, aging infrastructure, and insufficient access to education and training programs. These challenges are often exacerbated by systemic inequalities that hinder certain populations from accessing opportunities.
Attempts to revitalize these communities frequently face significant obstacles, with the primary challenge being a lack of access to capital. Many small businesses and community initiatives find it difficult to secure the funding necessary for growth, innovation, and sustainability.

RCI Community Funds (RCI), is committed to bridging this gap by raising and deploying capital to Revitalize, Catalyze, and Impact disinvested communities.
RCI Academy: Bridging the Gap between Social Activism and Financial Empowerment
In an increasingly interconnected world, the relationship between social activism and financial empowerment is essential. At RCI, we believe that true activism goes beyond protests and policy changes; it involves strategically allocating resources to nurture growth and sustainability within our communities. By investing in community-led initiatives, we can shift our perspective on capital's role in society and drive transformative change.

We are excited to announce the formation of RCI Academy, a nonprofit dedicated to the developing, publishing, and distributing of educational programs and materials focused on economic development in economically distressed and disinvested communities. The organization will engage in research and provide solutions related to community organization, engagement, funding, investment, real estate, small business support, strategic alliances, and social impact metrics, sharing insights through live events, webinars, and avatars.
Additionally, RCI Academy will offer technical assistance and counseling to communities, civic organizations, and businesses involved in economic development, aiming to alleviate governmental burdens, reduce neighborhood tensions, and address community deterioration.
What Does "Disinvested" Mean?
Disinvested communities are groups of people or geographic areas that face:
Limited Access to Financial and Professional Resources
Communities' ability to invest in essential infrastructure, education, and services is strained, not only stifling economic development but also diminishing the capacity for innovation and resilience.
Inadequate Inclusion in Economic, Social, and Civic Life
Communities are prevented from contributing to decision-making and innovation without the mingling of diverse voices and talents, creating disparities that reinforce social inequalities and hinder collaboration and resilience.
Disenfranchisement or Barriers
to Accessing Services
Communities’ participation in the economy and their access to critical resources like healthcare, education, housing and social support is restricted, perpetuating cycles of poverty and inequality and weakening community cohesion.
